NEW Cedar Heavy Duty 35mm stretcher bars or Art Spectrum Pine Heavy Duty bars.
Sizes available from 6"x6" to 84"x84" or metric 200mm to 2000mm. Non standard & longer than 2 metres made to order.
Braced or cross braced as required.
hand tailored corners (not cut).
Rustproof heavy duty staples, air powered for strength.
Optional tape finish on back.

Professional Heavy Duty Cedar Stretcher Bars

Our professional stretcher bars are designed and produced in New Zealand from cedar with heavy duty profile. Bracing slots for all sizes over 100cm, and double bracing available for sizes over 150cm, wedge slots, edges rounded and beveled away from the canvas.

Dimensionally more stable than pine.
Lighter than pine - reducing overall weight on large works.
The finger-jointed cedar increases strength.
Naturally insect-repellant. Not treated.
Bar profile is 35mm x 65mm and bevels away from the edge with a fine bull-nose (preventing cracking of paint film).
Slot and tenon corner joints allow easy retensioning of canvas with wedges available.
Sizes are all metric from 200mm to 2000mm (at increments of 50mm). Larger sizes to order.
To ensure stability, bracing is available from 1000mm and 'H' bracing from 1500mm.
