Gordon Harris was thrilled to sponsor NIELS SHOE MEULMAN with art materials for his current exhibition at the new Saatchi Gallery. Niels revolutionized the art of writing with Calligraffiti, an art form that fuses calligraphy and graffiti. Niels works almost exculusively with Golden Fluid Acrylic. "They must have a special ingredient in it because there is nothing else like it. I had previously worked with solvent-based inks but Golden Fluid is far superior. I love the fluid nature of it and the shiney finish." If you have a passion for calligraphy or typography this show is a must.

The Garden Design School (Auckland)

The Garden Design School, set up by Robyn Laurenson of Laurenson Landscape Design, runs 8 week part-time courses during the school term teaching garden owners to design their own gardens. Classes are held one morning or evening a week in central Auckland.

These courses give garden owners the opportunity to transform their gardens while maintaining control of the entire process. They are do-it-your-self, project-based courses. Classes are small, fun, and friendly, lead by an experienced, award-winning landscape designer. No previous experience is necessary. Class sizes are kept to a maximum of eight people, and a delicious morning tea or supper is served each week!

Morag Stokes' Acrylic Adventures Workshops (Wellington)

This one day workshop aims to give artists, from hobbyists to professionals, an overview of the extensive artists' acrylic products and their creative possibilities available from leading manufacturer Golden. Learning is through demonstration, discussion and practical exercises designed to inspire your creativity using paint, gels, pastes and mediums to make four small art works. You will use traditional and subtractive techniques using open acrylics, play with fluid and airbrush acrylics in wet gels, and work with pastes, acrylic skins and digital grounds. You will also learn about using iridescent and interference paints and what part organic and inorganic pigments play in the mixing of clear, bright colour.
