Hi, I'm Peter - Store Manager

Originally I am from the UK, gaining my degree in textile design at Birmingham Polytechnic. After graduating I worked for four years in a textile studio in Como, Italy. Although a beautiful place and a wonderful experience I still had itchy feet and the need to travel more. Somehow I found myself in New Zealand and felt right at home.

I have been working for Gordon Harris since 1998, starting in the Newmarket store all those years ago, but have also managed the Symonds Street store when it first opened. I also do some illustration/mixed media classes at AUT with the fashion department and some acrylic mortar and medium workshops. I have a great deal of experience with many of our products be it fine art or crafts.

The team in Newmarket are from various areas of art and design and we all have our areas of expertise. Painters, illustrators, designers all here to serve you, solve your problems and answer your questions. Open 7 days, with ample customer parking we are here to help.
