Canson Montval Watercolour Papers

Canson, located in France, is one of the world's leading Fine Art Paper Mills. Founded in 1557, Canson's illustrious history includes prestigious appointment to Manufacture Royale in 1784 by Louis XVI and the invention of the Hot Air Balloon, made with Canson paper in 1782.

Canson is at the origin of many other inventions such as tracing paper, pulp dyed paper, textured vellum paper and paper making techniques such as the continuous paper machine and paper sizing directly in the tank.
The unique qualities of Canson paper have been embraced by artists such as Picasso, Warhol, Ingres, Miro and Alechinsky.

CANSON MONTVAL is a cold pressed (C/P) engine-sized watercolour paper. Made without acid, this paper has a natural whiteness, stands up to mildew, and has a very long shelf-life. Suitable for all wet techniques: watercolour, wash, gouahce and acrylic.
