Dark Ultramarine Blue and Orange Cadmium Imitation
Mixing across the Colour Wheel will darken a colour: this blue with a little of the orange creates dark blues, while the orange plus blue makes a range of browns. Add enough of one to the other and you arrive at an almost blue- or brown-black. Add Titanium White to bright light back into these mixtures.
Turquoise Blue and Bright Yellow
Mixing around the Colour Wheel allows us to vary closely related hues in subtle steps. Turquoise is a blue-green that joins with yellow across the green section of the Wheel, resulting in bright, pale, almost pastel hues.
Transparent Vermillion and Opaque Primary Yellow
Vermillion is a warm red that offers a wide range of orange and warm yellow hues when combined with yellow. The transparent nature of this red keeps the mixtures rich with lots of depth.
