Our Custom Stretched Canvas are made to your choice of size, surface, profile, and orientation.

These are professionally stretched in-store with care and attention, featuring stainless steel staples and bespoke corners.

We also re-stretch existing artworks.

Our NZ kiln-dried pine and NZ redwood stretchers are available in 50mm increments, ranging from 150mm to 1500mm (pine) and to 2500mm (redwood). Other sizes can be made with reasonable lead time.

Our museum-grade aluminium stretchers are available in any size, including over 4500mm.

Kiln-dried pine and redwood stretchers are available in 25mm and 35mm profiles. Aluminium stretchers are available in 25mm, 35mm, and 45mm profiles.

We offer a wide range of primed cotton and linen fabrics to match your painting style.

While the majority of canvas are made with either American cotton or Belgian linen in a “medium” weave, finer and coarser qualities are also available.

Our Canvas Team can help you select the perfect surface, and supply you with samples of the fabrics if you’re unsure.

For a raw fabric surface, we can “reverse stretch” the primed fabric, giving you a stable, evenly tensioned surface with the natural fabric front-faced.

Staples are at the back of the frame, and corners are folded on the top and bottom of the canvas.

canvas will be. Studio Art Supplies has been stretching canvases since the 1980s, so you are in very capable hands!

Let them know what size you’re after, what fabric you want, and whether you’d like landscape or portrait format. Our economical Pine stretchers are available for sizes up to 1500mm, redwood goes up to 2500mm, and aluminium stretcher bars can be made to any size.
