Markers

SoFlat Matte Acrylics can be used with markers to create immersive fields of colour. To achieve the best results, it's essential to thin the paint enough to flow while preserving its opacity and matte quality. A mixture of two parts SoFlat paint to one part each of water and Golden Open Thinner is recommended. Mix these ingredients thoroughly, store them in a jar with a lid, and shake well before use.

Spraying

SoFlat can be used in airbrushes and other spraying devices to achieve stunning effects. Thinning the paint is crucial for spray applications. Ensure proper ventilation and wear a respirator and mask for safety. Read the labels for each colour to ensure safe spraying, as colours containing cadmium should never be sprayed. Multiple thin coats of colour are preferable to a thick wet layer.

Hard Edge Masking Techniques

Achieving clean, crisp edges in your artwork is made easier with hard edge masking techniques. Quality painter's masking tape is your first line of defence, but it's also essential to use a smooth surface for the best results.
