Inspired by Traditional Japanese Artwork: Washi is the Japanese term for papers traditionally made from the long bark fibres of three plants-- Kozo (paper mulberry), Mitsumata (indigenous Japanese crop, "the feminine element"), and Gampi (an early and noble fibre, known for its richness). Washi stems from two words: wa (meaning "Japanese") and shi (meaning "paper"). The washi designs included in this pack are inspired by vintage papers dating back to 1906, each highlighting the classic features of traditional washi that make it so inviting.
