NEW Pebeo Colorex Watercolour Ink & Markers

Date: 11-09-2023

Since the 1960s, Pebeo Colorex Watercolour Ink has supplied illustrators, comic artists, calligraphers, and designers with brilliantly coloured inks. Now the range has been reimagined for today’s drawing techniques, with a redesigned bottle and new Colorex Markers, using the original, unique ink formula.

Colorex Watercolour Ink offers an even colour application that is both graphic and versatile, and is used with brush, airbrush, dip pen, directly from the pipette, and with the new Colorex Markers.

As a dye-based, fully transparent, watercolour ink, achieving flat areas is straight-forward and simple. Extra depth can be created by layering up colours in glazes, and the ink can be re-wet to offer subtle blends and colour shifts.

The top of the 45ml Colorex bottle is boldly colour-coded for easy selection, and unscrews to access the wide mouth jar. It features a new pipette shaped for precise application and for refilling the Colorex Markers.

The Colorex Markers are great for both detail and area techniques. The flexible brush tip dispenses plenty of ink with good control, whether you want loose or precise colouring. Any colour collected when working over layers is quickly removed with a wipe on paper. The marker is refilled by inserting the pipette into the rubber valve at the end of the barrel.

Colorex perform well on any art paper, with smooth surfaces showing off the velvet flat colours and delicate shading best. Try them with Bristol, Hot Press Harmony, and lighter papers such as Hemp and Gordon Harris Zeta Pads.
Pebeo Colorex Watercolour Inks are available in 60 colours, with 29 colours in Colorex Markers, an empty marker compatible with 56 colours (excluding white and metallics), replacement nibs, and sets.
